Sometimes it takes a Rocket Scientist
Every hero has an origin story.

Innventure’s begins in 1983 in Tucson, Arizona.

Dr. John Scott, Innventure's Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, was in the middle of his career as a scientist with dual PhD’s in physics and astrophysics.

After a decade of consulting national governments around the world on improving their technology communities, John was struck with the notion that the entrepreneurs he was consulting with were having a lot more fun than he was, so he left the labs and became an entrepreneur in pursuit of one simple goal.
2003 - 2014
Building and Scaling
From the beginning, that simple goal has always been to create a repeatable system for disruptive company creation that significantly reduces the typical risks of early-stage investing and to deliberately improve that system through lessons learned. While John was building his early companies, he was assembling a group of experts that would later become the current managing partners at Innventure. Through their years of combined experiences, this team has collected key insights that have been applied to the Innventure business model.

“After this, we both took up golf on during the week and started eating fancy dinners at the local Country Club... Ha. This is not what happened at all. We suck at golf and love eating Guzman Y Gomez.”

Not just any tech or company
Over the years, our team of entrepreneurial athletes have been learning the right questions to ask to give disruptive tech companies the best chance of success. All those questions have been baked into our Closed Loop Model, and we use our DownSelect® research process to determine our opinion on the new economic value that any technology will create in the market.

Through DownSelect®, we work to determine in advance which breakthrough technologies will be adopted by the market, and who will benefit economically from adopting. These are critical elements to consider since the very nature of disruptive technology means the market will change from that disruption.

“We were essentially the Instagram police and called out fake influencers left, right and centre. It was fun and all, but there is only so many bikini chicks you can look at on Instagram before you start losing your mind.”

Just the Beginning
We strategically collaborate with large Multinational Corporations to commercialize disruptive value-driven companies that make the world a better place to live, whether it’s making plastic perpetually recyclable, creating fully recyclable packaging solutions, or creating breakthrough cooling solutions for data centers and telecom–and we fulfill the MNC’s strategic objective the technology was invented for in the first place.

We’re expanding our capacity to explore more disruptive, breakthrough technologies in more verticals in less time so that investments made by MNCs don’t go to waste, and the hard work done by so many R+D teams can see daylight and change our world for the better.
